AK420 Autoflower seeds: How to grow monster cannabis plants
The AK420 Autoflower seeds were grown in coco fibre with Neem cake and Diatomaceous earth. Neem cake is an organic manure produced from the crushed fruit of the Neem tree. Diatomaceous Earth can help prevent pests and fungus gnats from living in your coco fibre.
The AK420 plants were grown in 25 litre Autopots and a couple of plants were grown in smaller 4 litre hanging baskets.
Nutrients came from General Hydroponics FloraNova line, Ripen and Florakleen, The lighting came from some some LED grow lights and some home made COB lights using Cree CXB3590 COB.
Throughout the grow, heavy defoliating, softcropping and supercropping was conducted on the plants.
The best autoflowering cannabis varieties really are tough enough to withstand lots of rough treatment during growth.
Towards the end of the grow the plants were supported with stakes to prevent them collapsing under the weight of their own buds.

During the AK420 Autoflower grow there were two distinct phenotypes, an indica dominant and a sativa dominant phenotype. They only showed the differences between themselves during late bloom.
One phenotype was more sativa, with slender slimmer colas and flowers not bulging like the more indica type with massive thick colas and fat flowers heads.

On this grow, both phenotypes benefited from an extra 2-3 weeks beyond the normal 75 day life cycle. Because the plants had become so large they were left to live for 90 – 100 days.
The grower noted a massive increase in weight during the last 2 weeks. They plants were drinking 3-4 litres of water daily on average around harvest time. The grower noted that the plants could possibly have gone longer. But with such a heavy harvest already delivered, the grower decided to harvest.
The buds had a citrusy, fruity taste when vaped, with excellent bag appeal. It was a very strong smoke, and long lasting with dense buds and big colas.
The AK420 genetics are fully proven with their originals in the AK47 variety.
THC levels are over 22%, these genetics are on the same quality level as photoperiod varieties and if anything are even easier to grow.
